Busy international break for Pitch Rep players

With the international break upon us, a number of Pitch Representation players have been picked in national age group sides for Republic of Ireland, England and Northern Ireland,

Connor Ronan and Luca Connell will feature in UEFA Championship Qualifying and Elite round matches, having both been picked by Republic of Ireland for their respective age-groups.

Having previously appeared in numerous representative sides, Connell will head to Russia with the U19 team for Elite Round matches against Romania, Azerbaijan and Russia. In what has been a breakout season for the 17-year-old midfielder, Connell recently made his return for Championship side Bolton Wanderers and is back to full fitness.

Ronan, who is currently on loan at FC DAC in Slovakia, is in the 23-man squad that will take on Luxembourg on 24 March in Dublin.

Billy Crellin in for England

Billy Crellin is in contention to make his U19 England debut in this break, having been selected to head to the Elite Round qualifiers in Netherlands.

The 18-year-old goalkeeper will be hoping to help secure his side’s passage through to the Euro Finals in Armenia this summer. The England side will face Czech Republic, Greece and Denmark between 20-26 March.

Baggley, McKee and Scott in for Northern Ireland

The trio of Barry Baggley (Fleetwood Town), Chris McKee (Rangers) and Jack Scott (Linfield) will all feature for the Northern Ireland U17 squad as they head to Netherlands for three matches.

Starting on Wednesday, Northern Ireland will take on Netherlands, Czech Republic and Israel in three crucial rounds of the UEFA Championship Elite Round.

Having progressed from the qualifying rounds, these matches will decide whether Northern Ireland progress to the final stage of the Euro tournament, which is narrowed down from 32 to 16 teams.

It comes off the back of a big few weeks for McKee who recently won the international Alkass Cup with Rangers, while Baggley became the youngest ever player to debut for Fleetwood Town in a League One game.

Good luck to all our Pitch Rep players!
