Luca Connell completed a move to current Scottish Premiership Champions Celtic on Saturday, signing a four year deal.
Having only made his debut in England’s Championship in January, joining one of the most prestigious clubs in Europe marks another remarkable milestone in the 18 year old’s blossoming career.
Connell, a versatile midfielder who can also play full-back, will not only be a part of the Hoops quest to win 10 premierships in a row, but also have the opportunity to experience Champions League football.
The Liverpool-born Connell did little to contain his excitement at the shift.
"It's unbelievable to sign for such a massive club, known all around the world,” said Connell.
“It’s crazy. It hasn’t sunk in yet that I have joined such a big club with amazing history. Hopefully I can help create more history and crack on.
“I’m looking forward to all the league games, but especially the Champions League. If I could make my debut in Europe, I’m really going to need that confidence to play at that level.
“I’m more than ready for the pressure. I can’t wait.”
Connell, who was also recently called up to training with the Ireland squad, now heads to Austria where the Celtic team are in pre-season.
