Matty Virtue has made the pivotal next step in his career, signing with Blackpool on deadline day of the January transfer window.
Having captained the Liverpool Under-23 side this season and scored six goals in League 2, Matty has agreed a two-and-half-year deal with the SeaSiders.
Blackpool currently sit in eighth place in League One and are fighting for a spot in the playoffs.
The 21-year-old said his time training with the Jurgen Klopp side had prepared him well for the opportunity ahead.
“I’m very happy to finally get it over the line and get it done. It’s something I’ve known about for a month or so and I’m happy to be here and can’t wait to get started,” said Virtue.
“I’ve learnt loads at Liverpool and have loved my time there. Now it’s time to go and get my career started.”
Blackpool Manager Terry McPhillips praised the character of his new signing and suggested we may see him on the pitch sooner rather than later.
“He goes straight into consideration. He’s not a baby – he’ll be 22 in May,” said McPhillips.
“He does a bit of everything, but the main ingredient is that he’s a great kid, who trains hard every day and plays as he trains. We’re really excited to bring him on board.”
Blackpool’s next two matches are against League One opponents Stanley and Walsall – all the best Matty!
