Matty Virtue’s career at Blackpool continues to go from strength to strength, with the midfielder named March Player of the Month.
Having joined the club from Liverpool at the end of January, the 21-year-old has adapted quickly and scored three times in 10 appearances. The last of those goals came on Saturday when he scored against League One leaders Luton Town, while also adding an assist.
A late equaliser from Luton Town meant the match was drawn 2-2, though Virtue’s performance was widely praised by fans and the media alike.
Virtue’s assist can be seen at 0:28 and goal at 1:20.
Ronan the difference
Connor Ronan’s hot form continued in the weekend, scoring the lone and winning goal for FC DAC in their Super Liga match against MSK Žilina.
The midfielder’s strike helped FC DAC draw level on points with second placed MSK Žilina.
It comes off the back of a Man of the Match performance for Republic of Ireland U21, with Manager Stephen Kenny praising the ‘guts’ Ronan has shown in since arriving in Slovakia.

Harrison doubles up
Josh Harrison scored a brace for the Newcastle U16s as they were beaten 4-3 by their Everton equivalents.
The striker beat a pair of Everton players and ran a third of the pitch enroute to his first goal, before a superb first time strike secured his second.
Conn strikes late for Burnley
Burnley U18 representative Christopher Conn-Clarke struck in the 90th minute to give the clarets a 1-0 victory over Bristol City.
Playing alongside two other Pitch Rep clients in Edon Pruiti and Matty Rain, Conn-Clarke stepped up to a free kick from 30 yards out in the final seconds and spectacularly whipped it into the back of the net.
Well done to all of our Pitch Rep clients for their efforts over the weekend!
